Having received a promotion, the brave gendarme Crouchot arrives in the cozy resort town of Saint-Tropez with his beautiful daughter Nicole. The kind but understated local gendarmes gladly accept Crouchot into their circle. But their joy quickly fades: not so kindly, but even more stupid Crouchot rushes with zeal to defend the law even when the law does not need his protection.
