The heroine of the movie Marnie Edgar gets a job in various firms under a false name and, after working for a while, disappears with the companies' money without leaving any trace. She is elusive, as she constantly changes not only names, but also her appearance. Mark Rutland, a business partner of one of Marnie's former victims, exposes her when she takes a job with him.
