The White Ribbon 2009

Germany, 1913. Mysterious and disturbing events begin to unfold in a seemingly respectable and quiet Protestant village. First, the local doctor falls from his horse after tripping over a stretched-out wire; then someone kidnaps and beats the baron’s son; then houses catch fire and people die. Is this a series of accidents or a series of planned punitive rituals? A young country schoolteacher has his own suspicions.
