Nicholas, a small-time crook and alfonso, dates only those women who are able, if not to support him, at least to keep him afloat. All means are used: a "sweet Seville accent", a resemblance to the French actor Charles Boyer, and even a wig that hides a vast bald spot. After a short time with his mistresses, Nicholas robs them and disappears.
