A brother and sister come to visit their mother's grave. The brother scares his sister with stories about zombies, not realizing that they are not far from reality. Suddenly a dead man pounces on them - the brother is killed, and Barbara runs away, finding a farmhouse on the way. Some time later, Ben, whose car's gas tank has run out of gas, pulls up to it. They decide to stay in the house and prepare for defense.
