In an attempt to cleanse the country of evil, the inquisitors declare the young princess Aza a witch and put on her the Mask of Satan, a special mask with sharp spikes inside. Before being burned at the stake, the princess curses her executioners to the seventh knee. Two centuries pass. Dr. Kruvayan and his young colleague Andrei's carriage breaks down on the way to Moscow, and while the coachman is trying to insert the wheel into the groove, the curious gentlemen look into the ancient crypt, where by a fatal coincidence of circumstances rests the very same witch princess. Accidentally breaking the cross seal over Aza's tomb, Kruwayan becomes the catalyst for dark and mysterious events unfolding against the backdrop of Andrei's ardent passion for the young princess Katya, whose body and youth is being hunted by the evil witch...
