2050-е. Fleeing from a bloodthirsty creditor who dismembers his debtors, Mickey Barnes and his buddy sign up as colonists on the planet Niflheim. Only the friend becomes a pilot, and Mickey himself is forced to become an expendable employee - to perform deadly tasks, die and come alive again in a freshly printed body, in which his consciousness is loaded.
