Blackgammon is the name of a punk metal band formed by drummer Ruben and his girlfriend Lou. For a rocker, Ruben is a former drug addict who has quit his addiction - he is too focused on a healthy lifestyle, however, it is better to be safe from illnesses as from jail and prison. During the performance, he suddenly hears that the drums do not make a signature sound, but a deafening hum. This is the first symptom of inevitable hearing loss. So Ruben goes to a secluded retreat for people with deafness to learn how to be deaf himself.
