Swimmer Haley is having a bad day: first she loses her swim, losing by a fraction of a second, and then a Category 5 hurricane hits Florida. To make matters worse, her father hasn't been in touch, so Haley goes to an already evacuated area and finds him badly injured and unconscious in the basement of their old house. Trying to get her father out of the damp basement, the girl discovers that there is a huge aggressive alligator lodged there. The bad day continues - the water is coming, there is nowhere to wait for help, and the toothy reptile is ready to attack at any opportunity.
