Failan 2001

After the death of both her parents, Fylan emigrates to South Korea in hopes of finding the relatives who remain there. Upon her arrival, she learns that they have moved to Canada. Desperate to settle into her new life in a foreign country, Fayan turns to a marriage agency, where they find her a husband. Kang-jae is an aging gangster, financially strapped and lacking any authority. Failan knows nothing about Kang-jae; all she has is a photo of him from the agency. Marrying him allows the young woman to obtain a work permit; Kang-jae receives a monetary reward; and it would seem that their relationship should end there. But Fayan begins to develop feelings for her unfamiliar husband.
