Black Narcissus 1947

Tired of uncertainty and worldly passions, five Catholic nuns, led by Sister Clodagh, arrive in a remote Himalayan village to establish a school there. However, a breakdown in their relationship with a local white settler, Mr. Dean, the harsh climate, a growing longing for home, and, finally, a waning faith soon lead the women to realize that their only options are to leave this place or die.
